Revised remix of a rented remake.

Monday, February 5th, 2007

…..meh, I got nothing to say tonight, enjoy the tunage.

New Order
Everything’s Gone Green (Cicada Remix)
The first obligatory New Order single on The Lost Turntable for 2007. This was a b-side to ‘Waiting For The Siren’s Call’.

Michael Damian
Rock On (12” Power Re-mix)
Rock On (Extended Dance Mix)
Michael Damian is one of three people I can think of that doubled as pop stars and soap opera actors in the 1980s. Rick Springfield is the most obvious one, but don’t forget about Jack Wagner (also of General Hospital) who scored a big hit will ‘All I Need’. Unlike those two Michael Damian was on Young And The Restless and according to some stuff I read online he had a few hits but I’ve never heard of any of them, including this cover of David Essex’s ‘Rock On’. These remixes are off of a promo single. Posting these remixes of a remake reminds me (wow that’s some alliteration) that you guys should probably check out Mixed Up In Glitter, it’s a nice blog that’s dedicated to remixes.

The Plasmatics
Living Dead (Live)
Sometimes I…(Live)
There’s nothing I can say about the awesome fuckedness that was Wendy O. Williams. This bitch made Joan Jett and Lita Ford look like members of the PTA. These two live tracks were off of an EP for ‘Butcher Baby’. They might be on a greatest hits or something too, I really don’t know.

Danny Elfman
Gratitude (Tornado Version)
Gratitude (Extended Dance Version)
I didn’t even know that Danny Elfman made a solo album until I found this single. It’s a lot like Oingo Boingo (obviously) and came out about a year before Dead Man’s Party.

The Big Depeche Mode Post

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

I’m so excited over the mass-stupidity that this Aqua Teen Hunger Force hubbub has caused that I want to contribute. I’m thinking of making graffitti tags that say “this is a BOMB” and tagging billboards just to see how stupid people can be. I’m a stinker like that. Now onto the tunage.

Depeche Mode

Behind The Wheel (Extended Remix)
Behind The Wheel (Beatmasters Mix)
Behind The Wheel/Route 66 (Megamix)
Behind The Wheel/Route 66 (Megadub)
Enjoy The Silence (The Quad: Final Mix)
Enjoy The Silence (Ecstatic Dub)
Enjoy The Silence (Bass Line Mix)
Enjoy The Silence (Hands And Feet Mix)
Memphisto
Holy crap that’s a lot of Depeche Mode. All of these are off of two promo singles I picked up last week. Enjoy The Silence is my second favorite Depeche Mode song (right behind ‘Never Let Me Down Again’) and some of these remixes are amazing. A couple of these suckers are LONG though and if you listen to all of them in one sitting you might want to slit your wrists. Memphisto (that’s how they spelled it) is the B-side. I’m not a big fan of ‘Behind The Wheel’ but the remixes that include the band’s amazingly odd take of ‘Route 66’ are radical (yes, I said radical – suck it).

Oingo Boingo
Weird Science (Extended Remix)
Yeah, it’s not a Depeche Mode song but I don’t think any of you will care right?
